E’ questo il progetto per un concorso ad inviti che non abbiamo vinto; aveva per oggetto la realizzazione di un edificio polifunzionale antistante il santuario Madonna dei Miracoli a Motta di Livenza con un complesso residenziale nell' area retrostante.
Data l’ importanza della posizione di fronte alla chiesa, si era ritenuto che l’ edificio dovesse erigersi su una nuova piazza privata ma di uso pubblico.
L' idea della piazza pavimentata e “a verde” voleva essere una rivisitazione del giardino formale all’ italiana, ma dove le siepi servono per ricavare spazi riservati e protetti, di sosta e di consumo per i pedoni.
L' involucro in cristallo che racchiude i negozi deveva consentire la “trasparenza” del piano terra verso le nuove residenze previste all’ interno dell’ area, e allo stesso tempo “sospendere” il volume direzionale del piano primo che sembra avere origine da un asse verticale da cui partono due fogli ondulati che si allontanano l'un l' altro fino ad “abbracciare” l' edificio esistente sulla proprietà confinante ad ovest. Motta è una città d' acqua, la presenza dell' acqua “anima” la città...qui l'acqua entra nella piazza e nell' edificio, lo “fa vivere” e lo “sostiene”.

This is the plan for a competition by invitation that we did not win. It had as aim the construction of a multifunctional building in front of the Madonna dei Miracoli sanctuary in Motta di Livenza and with a residential complex in the area behind it.
Given the importance of the position in front of the church, it was believed that the building should be erected on a new private but for public use square.
The idea of the paved and "green" square was intended to be a reinterpretation of the formal Italian-style garden but where the hedges are used to create reserved and secluded spaces, and areas for pedestrians to walk and pause.
The glass casing that encloses the shops allowes for the "transparency" of the ground floor towards the new residences planned inside the area, and at the same time "suspending" the management office of the first floor which seems to originate from a vertical axis from which two corrugated part until they "embrace" the existing building on the neighboring property to the west. Motta is a city of water and the presence of water "animates" the city ... here the water enters the square and the building, "making it come alive" and "sustaining" it.
