Ipotesi di progetto in provincia di Padova per la nuova sede direzionale e produttiva della Ditta Kioene rivolta alla produzione vegetariana e vegana; veniva richiesta un'immagine visiva che rappresentasse anche la peculiarità “bio-etica” della Ditta.
La scelta compositiva–morfologica è stata quella di immaginare il complesso produttivo come un unico grande volume “verde” che si “frantuma” e “degrada” in corrispondenza del corpo uffici; morfologicamente gli uffici non sono “altro” dalla produzione, sono la scomposizione della testata terminale di un'unica grande massa che corre parallela al cammino di Sant'Antonio ad un'altezza costante di circa 13 mt., percepita dai “viandanti” come un volume unitario dove la copertura verde del parallelepipedo produttivo scende nei tetti e nelle terrazze fiorite a formare gli uffici come grandi gradonate naturali.
Il complesso, lungo circa 270 mt. vorrebbe essere insieme architettura e paesaggio: una pensilina intesa come camminamento sospeso accompagna l'edificio nella sua interezza; appena sopra la pensilina una finestratura orizzontale continua si arresta sotto una fioriera egualmente lunga e piantumata a canne di bambù che, “a regime”, supereranno in altezza la facciata dell'edificio. Chi cammina lungo il percorso di Sant'Antonio vedrà dunque, sospeso sopra il cristallo che dà luce alla produzione, un lunghissimo vero canneto ondeggiante al vento e leggermente illuminato la sera; tra la pensilina e la strada sull'argine del Muson è disposta una serie di “orti scolastici” (soia, frumento,orzo...ma anche aromi e profumi e fiori...) dove la Kioene potrà organizzare lezioni sul campo per operatori, clienti, scolaresche, etc. e dove il mutare della vegetazione degli “orti” al variare delle stagioni sarà percepito anche dai pellegrini.
Il corpo del deposito frigorifero con oltre 20 mt.di altezza non potrà essere “mascherato” per intero dal canneto; immaginiamo allora questo grande volume come un' occasione di colore e natura, immaginiamolo ricoperto di “vite americana” spoglia d'inverno, verde chiaro in primavera, verde via via più intenso in estate e finalmente rosso acceso in autunno sotto e sopra le canne; la vite americana proteggerà il corpo frigo dal sole in estate e segnerà con la sua variabile policromia, il cambio delle stagioni...la si pensi illuminata sobriamente la sera, quando è rossa...
Il corpo degli uffici e del retail, costruiti in legno, sarà raggiunto da un percorso ciclo pedonale immaginato come un deck in mezzo al grano e ai papaveri, un altr'anno in mezzo ai girasoli, poi in mezzo al lino con fiori azzurri e così via a rotazione nelle stagioni e negli anni a seguire...
Infine l'ingresso degli ospiti deve essere un percorso di forte suggestione che attraversa lo specchio d'acqua con le nifee, i fiori di loto e il papiro, e intorno l'equiseto e le erbe profumate...e sulla grande parete bianca pensata come uno schermo, la proiezione delle nifee di Monet o la scena dei ciliegi con i petali come neve al vento nei “Sogni” di Kurosawa...

Preliminary design in the province of Padua for the new production site and office of Kioene Company dedicated to vegetarian and vegan production; it was required an architectural visual image to represent the "bio-ethics" peculiarity of the company.
The compositional and morphological choice was to imagine the production complex as a large "green" volume that "breaks" and "degrades" towards the office block; morphologically, offices are not "other" than production, they are the decomposition of the end cap of one great mass that runs parallel to St. Anthony' path, perceived by the "hikers" as one unit volume where the large rectangular green covering of the production building goes down thowards the roofs and flowered terraces to form the offices as big natural steps.
The complex, about 270 meters long, would be both architecture and landscape: a shelter thought as a suspended walkway accompanies the building in its entirety; just above the shelter, a continuous horizontal window stops under a box planter equally long and planted with bamboo that, "up to speed", will exceed the height of the building's facade. Those who walk along the path of St. Anthony will therefore see, suspended above the crystal that gives light to the production, a true long shelter overgrown with bamboo (canes) reeds swaying in the wind and slightly illuminated in the evening; between the shelter and the path along the Muson river, there is arranged a series of "school garden" (soybeans, wheat, barley ... but also flavors and scents and flowers ...) where Kioene can organize lessons on the field for operators , customers, students, etc. and where the changing of the vegetation of the "gardens" with the changing seasons will also be perceived by the pilgrims.
The body of the cold store with over 20 mt. height can not be "masked" in full by reeds; then let's imagine this large volume as an 'occasion of color and nature, portray it covered with "Virginia creeper" bare in winter, light green in spring, more and more intense green in summer and finally bright red in autumn under and above the bamboo reeds; the Virginia creeper will protect the refrigerator volume from the sun in summer and will mark with its variable colorfulness, the change of seasons ... imagine it soberly illuminated in the evening, when it is red ...
The offices and retail, built in wood, will be reached by a pedestrian cycle path thought as a deck among the wheat and poppies, the following year amid the sunflowers, then in the midst of the linen with blue flowers and so on rolling in the seasons and years to follow ...
Finally the entry of guests must be a path of great beauty that crosses the pond with waterlilies, lotus flowers and papyrus, and around the horsetail and fragrant herbs ... and on the large white wall designed as a screen, the projection of the “ninfee” by Monet or the scene of the cherry trees with petals like snow in the wind in "Dreams" by Kurosawa ...
